The Greater Hartford NAACP

The Greater Hartford Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People continues to be in the forefront of the struggle for civil rights, justice and equality, particularly as it affects the Black community. Our branch relies entirely on the voluntary support of its members, and the branches are the life-blood of the national NAACP.
Economic exploitation, racism, sexism, drugs, crime, mediocre healthcare and education, and a limited satisfaction from electoral participation still afflict many who live in the greater Hartford region, one of the poorest urban areas in the country. However, our NAACP Branch, in collaboration with other organizations and individuals, has been able to alleviate these symptoms of mounting crisis.
We invite anyone concerned about social justice in Greater Hartford to attend our meetings and to consider whether they might like contribute to progress by joining our ranks.
